Single span staircase in major Edinburgh shopping centre

Annandale Design has demonstrated its expertise and experience in both architectural and structural steelwork with the complete design, manufacture & installation of the largest single span stair in the UK.

This highly complex and ambitious project involved structural strengthening of the main structure & installation of some serious trimmer beams to form a new link bridge across the mall.The stair was manufactured in a tapered box section design & was lifted into position in 3 sections, bolted, site welded & finished painted to the highest of standards.

The stylish finish was enhanced with glass treads & landings which were manufactured from 3 ply toughened laminated glass. The whole project was completed in a live trading environment and required Annandale Design to work nightshift to minimise disruption. The end result is a stunning feature staircase which integrates perfectly into the prestigious shopping centre.
